A Fender Bullet gets a quickie cosmetic repair.

Here's an inexpensive Fender electric that presented an interesting challenge. This 1982 Bullet S-3 is a cool student model whose previous owner had hacked into the pickguard to be able to install a Seymour Duncan JB Jr. The challenge was to
re-install the original bridge pickup and cover up the damage with out the expense of a new pickguard.
I made myself a pickup ring out of a damaged pickguard I had sitting around the shop. The problem? The white pickguard I had on hand didn't match the age yellowed pickups and pickguard.

The solution was a quick coat of tinted clear coat from Guitar ReRanch!

To make this subtle upgrade even more important,it turned out the original bridge pickup must have been left sitting out of the case because it was even more yellow than it's brothers!
Looking good, and back to (mostly) original condition!
